All Day, Natural Foundation Picks

If you feel like your face “disappears” throughout the day, your base is probably the issue.

I feel the struggle of not wanting anything too heavy or visible, but I also need my features to show up when on Zoom meetings. Below I’ll share my favorite light-coverage foundations, which strike a nice balance between not-enough and too much.

The Holy grail

For as long as I can remember, Armani Luminous Silk has been my go-to foundation for myself and clients. Not only is it the most versatile foundation I’ve found, meaning it works on every skin type, but you can customize it beautifully. If you want super light coverage, you can mix it with a moisturizer or glowing primer. For more coverage, just apply more where you want it. If you get oily throughout the day, it accepts powder without getting chunky.

I love how weightless this is while still giving me proper coverage. I can’t go on Zoom without it. Also, especially on-camera, it causes the rest of my makeup (blush, bronzer) to blend better. The only caveat is the shades can be a bit tricky. I’m 5.75, but it’s worth swatching a few shades IRL.

the oldy but goody

My favorite foundation was Make Up For Ever’s Ultra HD…until they discontinued it. Despite them coming out with several reformulations, nothing measured up. Until now.

The newly-launched Super Boost Lightweight Moisturizing Skin Tint is wonderful, despite the misleading name (I’m shade 5). Not only verbose, one might think this is a…lightweight skin tint. However, I would say it matches the coverage of Armani Luminous Silk but much more moisturizing. So, if you have oily skin or prefer a satin or matte finish, I’d skip this one. If you’re normal-to-dry like me, give it a shot.

The one that wears well

This one is more for the normal-to-oily crowd who feel like foundation breaks up throughout the day. Still, I’m dry, and I am on my second bottle of the Haus Labs Triclone Skin Tech Medium Coverage Foundation. While this is a full-coverage foundation. and I prefer light coverage, this foundation stretches. That means you can apply a small dot of product and blend it out over a larger area.

You can see this foundation on the skin at first, especially as you powder, but I cannot tell you how gorgeous it wears. The longer you wear it, the more skin-like it becomes. I’ve worn this is extremely humid/sweaty environments and it hasn’t budged.

Also, I love the self-awareness of this brand, because you can also purchase a try-it kit. The shades are very tricky (I’m 260), so it’s definitely worth swatching first.

At this stage in my life, I want the path of least resistance where I can get it. Finding the right base has made my daily routine that much better, so good luck finding yours.
