Sweat-Proof Minimal Makeup

There are so many “sweat-proof makeup” tutorials out there, and they include massive amounts of makeup spackled on to stay in place no matter what. That’s fine for certain occasions, but I like to keep my face as clean as possible when I know I’ll be pouring sweat.

Today I took my first, socially-distanced Barre3 class outside and it was amazing! But I also sweat so much in the morning humidity, and I’m proud to say my “makeup” stayed on despite toweling off several times.

I like to wear makeup because 1. it’s fun 2. it makes me feel good and 3. when you’re in a mask and all you see is eyeballs, a little mascara really elevates the look. And I wore it today because after class I grabbed coffee and went grocery shopping, and I always like to be prepared in case I run into Hanson and want a selfie.

Sweaty Makeup Routine

Full Coverage Concealer

The Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer is one of those hybrid makeup products that does so much - including providing heavy duty coverage without looking heavy. I swiped on a thin layer just to cover my dark circles.

Waterproof Brows and Liner

The Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade is a tried-and-true favorite for budge-proof brows. I used the corresponding brush to lightly fill in any gaps then brushed the product through with the spoolie.

Here’s the fun part - I also used this as an awesome eyeliner by pushing the pomade into the base of my lashes. This gives eyes so much definition without looking like you’ve done anything, and also makes lashes look thicker by enhancing their roots.

Smudge-Free Lashes

I recently tried a waterproof mascara with disastrous results (Maybelline Falsies Waterproof), but thankfully the CoverGirl Exhibitionist Waterproof formula held up almost perfectly.

This is me post-sweat sesh and unfiltered, and this is just enough makeup to give my face structure and me confidence! Of course I’d typically add a little gloss…but masks lol.

Let me know - do you like a full face of makeup when it’s hot out, or do you prefer minimal tweaks? Either way, always remember the sunscreen!
