If you go allll the way back to the beginning of my Instagram feed, you’ll see my undying love for Charlotte Tilbury and her new (at the time) makeup line. I purchased Hepburn Honey (now Yes Honey) lipstick and Seduction lip gloss with the “kisses” makeup bag all the way from England because she hadn’t launched in the US yet.

Of course her line has massively expanded both in products and locations since then. There have been plenty of hits, but also some misses, which you’ll hear about later. For the most part, though, this is still one of my favorite makeup brands.

Charlotte and her team had a master class to share her “Best Glow of Your LIfe” routine, as well as announce some new products. I’ll share my take on the look in Part 2, but here’s what I learned!

Charlotte’s Tips

Good Canvas = Good Painting

For the first 20 minutes of the class, Charlotte was prepping her skin. I kid you not. She started with her new, exfoliating mask, then her serum, then moisturizer. Obviously this was skin care as well as makeup prep, but the point is clean, prepped and primed skin will give you the best makeup outcomes.

As a makeup artist, I can tell you this is so, so true. For the very best results, I would always tell my even prospective clients to get on a consistent skincare routine (consistency being the key), weeks or months before their event. The better the skin, the better the makeup, no question.

Everyone Needs Hollywood Flawless Filter

While my favorite makeup product category of all time is concealer, the best actual product is Charlotte’s Hollywood Flawless Filter. I use it all the time for all sorts of things, and I have it in two shades.

While I use it as a skin tint, a primer, a foundation mix-in, and a highlight, Charlottes’s team shared other ways they use it:

eye shadow primer
under eye primer
mix-in with under eye concealer
mix with powder blush

I’ve tried most of these and…mind. blown. There’s nothing else like this on the market, and I can’t recommend it enough!

Powder to the People

Powder is something that can be very fussy, and definitely not something I personally use every day. I really do love Charlotte’s Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder, however, for the apples of the cheeks and center of forehead. She and her team agreed - they never send anyone down the red carpet without this powder. You just need a touch, and it absolutely imparts an airbrushed, not chalky, finish.

Confidence FTW

So this look was a full face of makeup, no doubt. But Charlotte went a little bit into why she loves makeup so much. And I couldn’t agree more. She said:
